The Scriptures
II
Timothy 3:16&17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be
perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
II
Peter 1:20&21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of
the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the
prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but holy
men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
-
The
Bible is eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable, and has
thus been preserved for us today.
Matthew 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till
heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no
wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

God
-
There is one living true and
infinite God who is our creator and Supreme Being.
I Corinthians 8:6
But to us there
is but one God, the father, of whom are all things and we in
Him, and by whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord
Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him.
-
God is immutable, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent
in his nature. He is referred to as the Alpha and Omega in
the Bible. God always has been and always will be in his
existence, and he created the earth in six literal, 24-hour
days.
Psalm 90:2
Before the mountains were brought
forth or even thou hadst formed the earth and the world,
even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God!
Genesis
1:1 In
the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
-
God has manifested himself throughout the Gospel in the
incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, and in the very word
of God itself as it says in John 1:1. God has also been
revealed to us in three distinct persons, the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Ghost. This is known as the trinity – a
term not found in the Bible, but the concept is. These 3
execute distinct yet harmonious offices in the great work of
redemption.

Christ
Matthew 16:1
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the
Son of the Living God.
John 5:26&27
For as
the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son
to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to
execute judgement also, because he is the Son of man.
-
Jesus
Christ was born of a virgin. The virgin birth is a
fulfillment of a wonderful prophecy, proves the reliability
of scripture, and is the way that Christ became both human
and divine. The Holy Ghost supernaturally came upon Mary,
allowing her to become impregnated with God’s Son having
never known a man.
Luke 1:35
And the angel answered and
said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the
power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also
that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called
the Son of God.
-
Jesus Christ was crucified for man’s sin. The crucifixion
Christ endured, proved him to be a perfect, sinless
sacrifice. The blood he shed as our sacrifice was necessary
as the atonement for our sins, and our sins can now become
washed clean because of his sacrifice.
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love
toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us.
I John 1:7
But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ
his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
-
Jesus Christ was resurrected. I believe the resurrection of
Christ is one of the key doctrines of Christianity, and that
it is a vital part of the gospel. We know that Christ was
resurrected because it was prophesied and proven in the
Gospel account of the empty tomb and in the risen Christ’s
revelation of himself to over 400 of his followers.
Matthew 16:21
From that time forth, began Jesus to shew unto his
disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer
many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and
be killed, and be raised again the third day.
-
After revealing himself to his followers and completing his
work here on earth, Christ ascended into Heaven, promised
his return, and was seated on the right hand of the Father
where be abides today.
Acts 1:11
…Ye men of Galilee,
why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which
is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like
manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

The Holy Spirit
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the
love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with
you all. Amen.
John
14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all
things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever
I have said unto you.
-
The
Holy Spirit resides within the Christian and ministers to
his spirit by teaching, guiding, commissioning, interceding,
commanding, restraining, and loving us. He also has
administered spiritual gifts to the Christian.

Sinful Man
Genesis 3:6
And when the woman
saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was
pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one
wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave
also unto her husband.
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as
by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and
so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

Salvation
Roman 6:23
For the wages
of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ephesians 2: 8&9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works lest any
man should boast.
I
John 1:9
If we confess
our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
-
Once a person receives Christ, they become justified. This
term justification means “to declare righteous”. Therefore,
a believer can stand before God because the righteousness of
Jesus Christ has been imputed to him from the very moment of
Salvation. At this moment, the believer is no longer a
member of the cursed family of sin, but is born again into
God’s family and has become his child.
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to
them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit.
Romans 8:16
The Spirit itself beareth
witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

The Church
Ephesians 4:12&13 For
the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the
knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the
measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Matthew 28:19&20
Go ye
therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name
of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have
commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the
end of the world. Amen.
-
There are also two separate uses of the word church. There
is the universal church, which is made up of all believers.
I Corinthians 12:13 tells us that …For by one Spirit are
we all baptized into one body. Ephesians 5 also refers
to us as being the body of Christ. There is also the local
New Testament Church, which is made up of a local assembly
of believers.
Ephesians 5:23
For the
Husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head
of the church: and he is the savior of the body.
The
Pastor is to be the shepherd of the church, and is
responsible for leading it by preaching sound doctrine,
evangelizing sinners, and discipling believers. The
definition of a deacon is a servant, and it is the deacon’s
job to be a help by serving the church in whatever capacity
is necessary.
The
word Baptize means “to dip under” or “to immerse”, and it is
a symbol of the believer’s identification with Christ in his
death, burial and resurrection. The ordinance of the Lord’s
supper is mentioned in each of the first three gospels, and
it was instituted by Jesus on the night he was betrayed.

Angels
- The word angel means messenger.
We believe that angels are celestial beings created by God
with distinct supernatural powers and classifications.
Angels have a ministry to both God and man.
- We believe Lucifer was an
exalted angel who became lifted up with pride and rebelled
against God. The Bible teaches that God cast Lucifer
and 1/3 of the angels who rebelliously followed him out of
heaven. Today Lucifer and his followers are referred
to as Satan and his demons. They are responsible for
corrupting the seed of the gospel and tempting humankind to
sin. During the millennial reign of Christ, they will
be bound for a thousand years. After being released to
stir up one final rebellion, they will then be cast into the
Lake of Fire for eternal torments.
Jude 6
And the angles
which kept not their first estate but left their own
habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under
darkness unto the judgement of the great day.

Return of Christ and
related events
- We believe the first stage of
Christ's return is a pre-tribulation rapture. It is at
this moment that Christ will return from heaven for this
saints.
I Thessalonians 4:16&17
For the Lord
himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are
alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in
the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shal
we ever be with the Lord.
- After this rapture has taken
place, there will be a 7 year period of judgement known as
the tribulation. It is during this tribulation, that a
one-world leader called the Anti-Christ will come to power
and the Lord will pour out his judgement upon the earth.
Revelation 16:1
And I heard a
great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go
your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon
the earth.
- During this tribulation, God
will judge Christians at the bema-seat judgement according
to their works. Christ will then return to earth with
his saints and defeat the world-army at Armageddon.
After this, Christ will establish a new earth and rule in
Jerusalem for 1,000 years - this is known as the
millennium.
Revelation 22:12
And, behold, I
come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man
according as his work shall be.
- After the millennium, once
Satan has been defeated for eternity, God will judge sinners
at the Great White Throne judgement before the new Jerusalem
descends upon the earth and we live for eternity with him.
Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and
the books were opened: and another book was opened,
which is the book of life: and the dead were judged
out of those things which were written in the books,
according to their works.
